Don’t worry β we’re here to guide you through every step of the process, helping you understand what funding may be available and ensuring you have everything you need to complete your application.
The role of Home Energy Scotland
Home Energy Scotland (HES) is an independent service providing advice and support to homeowners in Scotland on how they can save energy and create a warmer home. They also act as the first step for customers looking to receive funding support through the HES Grant and Loan scheme. Householders cannot receive funding through the HES Grant and Loan scheme without first going through the advice service.Β
The role of Energy Saving Trust
Energy Saving Trust administers applications for the HES Grant and Loan funding scheme. Following a referral for funding, Energy Saving Trust is responsible for supporting customers through the application and claim process.Β
Please note:Β Funding availability, eligibility criteria and grant values are determined by Home Energy Scotland and Energy Saving Trust and may change over time.
Letβs get started
- Visit the funding finder page on the HES website and enter your postcode to check what funding is available in your area.
- From the options choose Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan Scheme if it is available. Enter your preferred method of contact and a HES advisor will be in touch with you. You may also want to create an account at this stage so your details can all be saved.
- You will then be invited by one of the advisors to register for the Energy Saving Trust funding portal. This is a secure platform where you will be able to access and submit your application, view its status and send messages to the service delivery team.
- Once registered on the Energy Saving Trust funding portal, you’ll be able to complete and submit your application. As part of your application, you’ll need to upload your quotation from Global Eco Energy Solutions, a recommendation report from Home Energy Scotland and any additional supporting documents requested by Energy Saving Trust.
- Energy Saving Trust will receive your application and assess your eligibility for funding. If successful, you’ll receive a funding offer along with an agreement to review and sign.
- Once your funding contribution has been received (where applicable), we’ll arrange a convenient installation date and get your project underway.
- Following installation, you’ll submit your claim through the Energy Saving Trust funding portal. Energy Saving Trust will review your claim and arrange payment of any approved grant or loan funding directly to your nominated bank account.
- If required, we’ll arrange your post-installation EPC assessment and provide any documentation needed to support your funding claim. Once funding has been received, you’ll simply provide proof of payment to Energy Saving Trust to complete the process.
